New Zealand is another avenue for Filipino nurses to work abroad. As reported by gmanews network, there a now recruiters in the philippines hiring nurses to work in New Zealand. You can even bring your family to immigrate in New Zealand. One of the requirements though is a two years experience. If you visit www.nursingcareers.co.nz you could see all the listing for nursing vacancies in Auckland, New Zealand. I hope that more countries will open up and hire filipino nurses to that it will help alleviate the glut of nurses in our country. It has also been reported by gmanews that today nurses in our country will need to pay in order to do volunteer work in the hospitals, this really is a sad plight of our nurses. Hopefully with the demand of nurses in foreign countries souring, the plight of filipino nurses will improve. [Full story]

you know what? that’s true. we pay for our training. the hospitals are taking advantage of the hype also. tapos when they hire you, the pay is not even enough to augment your own need.
as for new zealand.. it was my first option mainly for the reason that it is near the philippines plus it’s a socialist country. your family are well taken cared of. they said it’s the 2nd safest place on earth and it’s kinda high tech but laid back.
if only i don’t have a pending application for the US, i will really, really love to work and live in new zealand.
negative: more brain drain for philippines, leave what u love
positive: bring money home

Dear Hepsi,
I am processing my NZ registration. I am done with my birth cert and marriage cert dfa authentication and still waiting for my prc red ribbon to arrive hopefully 1st week of October. Will I submit these red ribbons to the New Zealand Embassy? What will NZ Embassy issue me? If NZ Embassy will issue a certificate after submitting the red ribbons to them will this certificate be submitted to the Nursing Council of NZ together with the other requirements so that I will become a registered Nurse of NZ? Hoping for the quick response. Thank you…

hi there! i’m actually under a migration consultancy agency here in the philippines. i completed all requirements (for NCNZ registration) already and for now, the agent told me to wait for about 4months for the council’s approval.. and also, the agent advised me that i’ll be attending the CAP since it’s a pre-requisite for overseas-trained nurses like me. however, i’m a bit frustrated with the duration of my appllication. it’s taking too long. i received the letter from NCNZ, acknowledging receipt of my application for registration last july. and they requested for a few more documents. and have submitted those already. and now, it’s september and the agent told me to wait for four more months. i mean, to sum it all up, can anyone tell me the estimated duration of application for registration to NCNZ????
