Not until today those who called me cannot leave voice messages because my voicemail was not setup yet. Not that I intentionally did not do anything about it but because I really don’t know how to do it. I called AT&T about it and the customer service rep told me to press the voicemail button and it will promp you to key in your new access number and after doing so your voicemail should be working. So I tried it and it did not work. I kept on pressing the voicemail button but nothing happens. I told the customer service rep that it does not work. After trying to help me unsuccessfullyvfor about 30 mins the guy got frustrated and told me he will connect me to an apple rep. So I waited for about 10 Mins and a guy answer on the other line. I told him about my issue and he told me to do the same thing as that AT&T rep already told me to do. I told him that I have been doing that for a long time already and sure enough after 20 mins he told me to visit an apple store so that they could guide me or to check If the phone is defected. I got frustrated. When I got home I surf the web to see if I could get a good advice unfortunately I got none. As I was holding my phone, I accidentally dialed my own number and to my surprise what I heard was, “if you want to setup your voicemail you need to select a 4 digit code, if you are ready key it in now.” so I did as what the computer told me to do. After keying in my access code the computer said that my voicemail is already setup. Now what, I told my self. Then I pushed the voicemail button once again and to my delight my iPhone asked for my access number. I keyed it in and it opened another window and the rest is practically boring staff. So the next thing I did was I did not answer my phone calls so that those who called would leave a message for me. Sure enough I got voicemails.
For those who are struggling to setup their iPhone voicemail and customer service from AT&T and Apple were not able to help you don’t despair your iPhone is not defective. Here’s what you got to do and I can assure you that this will do the trick. First call your own number, you read it right call your own phone number right now. When you are connected you will hear a message to key In you access code just follow what the computer is telling you to do. You know that you are done when the computer tells you your voicemail is already setup. After you are disconnected wait for a minute for the AT&T system update them press the iphone voicemail button and it will promp you to enter your passcode and that means your voicemail is already working. If you want to test if your voicemail is working, get another phone and call your iPhone and leave a message. Wait a minute or two then press the Iphone’s voicemail button. I am pretty sure you will be able to retrive the test message you left.

Thanks so much for the tip.
I searched all over the net, and had no voicemail for two days… and all I had to do to fix it was call my own number!
